about chicago:

Shortly after being named a city in 1837, the Great Chicago fire destroyed a large portion of the city leaving over 100,000 homeless. After a conscious effort to rebuild, the windy city was named one of the 5 largest cities in the world by the early 1900’s. During the great rebuild they focused heavily on urban planning, zoning standards, and developed the first steel-framed high-rise building. Positioned along the Great Lakes the city has always been a hub for commerce and transportation.
Currently, the city of Chicago has over 2.7 million residents, making it the third most populated city in the United States. O’Hare International Airport is the second busiest airport, based on air traffic. Two years ago Chicago hosted a record breaking 54 million visitors throughout the year, both domestic and international. A few of the top attractions include Navy Pier, Millennium Park, one of their many major league sporting events, and their renowned deep-dish pizza.
